Thomas Jess Baker

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Jess Baker, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Hospice Quinte on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024, at the age of 76.

Tom was the devoted husband of Marilyn (nee Tenwolde) and the proud father of Michael Baker and his wife Kim, and Jess Baker and his wife Nicole. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Alexa, Mikayla, and Beau. Tom is also survived by his siblings: Linda Pomeroy and her husband Al, Angela Baker, and Robert Baker and his partner Penny. Tom is the son in law to Willy Tenwolde (late Hil) and brother in law to Dianne (Jim), Roy (Diane) and Judy (Al). He is predeceased by his parents Edna & Norm Baker.

A passionate outdoorsman, Tom dedicated much of his life to volunteering in the Quinte region. He treasured time spent with family and friends, whether at home or while traveling. Tom had a natural gift for storytelling and could always bring a smile or a laugh, whether in the field or gathered around the dinner table. His memory will live on in the many lives he touched.

At Tom’s request cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church, Trenton, on Tuesday, November 26th, 2024, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm. Interment will take place at Carrying Place Annex Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Quinte would be appreciated by the family.
