Sutherland, Stanley…passed away peacefully at Kingston Health Sciences Centre on March 27th, 2025, with his closest friend Nadyne by his side. He was 75 years of age. Stanley was born on July 28th 1949 in New Glasgow, NS. to the late Evelyn Isabelle (nee Cole) and James Duncan Sutherland. Stanley spent his formative years in Westville, Nova Scotia with his parents and younger brother Keith. Stanley worked for Sears Canada in Stellarton, NS until the warehouse was closed and he accepted a transfer to their operations in Belleville, Ontario. This began the next adventure in his life. For many years Stanley enjoyed volunteering time and tormenting all the staff at Quinte Access, where his wife Patricia was co-ordinator for 15yrs. Stanley was also a proud member of the Trenton ON. Legion for many years. Stanley loved his annual summer holidays spent in Nova Scotia with family, especially the annual Sutherland family gathering in PEI where love and laughter was abundant and memories made. Besides his parents Stanley was predeceased by his wife Patricia “Pat” (nee Davis) Sutherland. Left to mourn are his younger brother Keith(Kathy) Sutherland along with beloved nephew Jimmy Sutherland and cherished niece Cyndi Morris. He also leaves behind grand nieces and nephews Tristian, Connor, Aliya, Haley, Jackson, Clara. Treasured friends Nadyne Mattis and Don O’Neill. The family would also like to acknowledge the staff and residents on the 3rd floor at the Brighton Retirement Living for making Stan’s short stay with you comfortable. Know that he truly enjoyed his stay and giving all the nurses a “hard time”. Respecting Stan’s wishes, cremation will take place. Family and friends are invited to visit Weaver Family Funeral Home- 29 Bay St. Trenton on Thursday, April 3rd from 5pm to 6pm with a funeral service beginning at 6pm. A celebration of Stan’s life will be held at a later date in Nova Scotia. If desired, donations in Stan’s name may be made to Quinte Access in Trenton, Ontario.
