Ronald Jeffery

Jeffery, Ronald “Ron” Gilbert…Passed away peacefully, with his daughters by his side, at Trenton Memorial Hospital on Sunday, August 11th in his 92nd year. (He is likely disappointed because he wanted to live to be 100!) Son of the late Harold and Martha Jeffery and son-in-law of the late Dorothy Rutter. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, his best friend, Betty Anne Jeffery nee Rutter. Cherished father of Rhonda Jeffery and Lisa Gerrie (Bill). Beloved Grandpa of Alexx and Madison Gerrie. Dear brother of Ted Jeffery (Jackie) and the late Moe Jeffery and his surviving wife, Glenda. Predeceased by his sister-in-law, Reta Walker and her husband, Bill, and by his brother-in-law, John “Jack” Rutter. Ron will be fondly remembered by Sandi Rutter and her family and his nieces and nephew and their families.

Ron, aka “Papasax”, loved music (jazz, blues, dance band, most anything) and played sax since the age of 12. He enjoyed decades of sharing that love and being with his band mates of The Trenton Citizen’s Band, the Brighton All Stars Concert Band and the 8 Wing Trenton Concert Band. He loved Trenton and spent many years serving the community while a member of the Kiwanis Club.

Visitation will be held at Weaver – East, 29 Bay St., Trenton on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm and a reception. Private interment will take place at White’s Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Parkinson Canada would be appreciated.
