O’Hara, Margaret Ellen – We are heartbroken to announce the death of our mother, Margaret Ellen O’Hara (Watson). She passed away at QH-Belleville General Hospital, on February 2nd, 2024, peacefully at the age of 79, surrounded by all of her family. Mom was born in Belleville, Ontario to Douglas & Florence Watson, on September 26th, 1944. Mom enjoyed many years of babysitting her grandchildren, and was a family billet for the Belleville Bulls Hockey Club for 14 years. Mom was an active member of the College Hill United Church, worked for and canvassed for the Heart & Stroke Foundation for 40 years, and canvassed for the Canadian Cancer Society for 20 years. Mom worked at several grocery stores throughout the years and always welcomed her customers with a smile at the cash register, and had the longest line of customers wanting to see her. Mom always found the time to make all the grandchildren special pajamas for Christmas eve. The care and compassion she had was second to none. Loved by so many and never forgotten. Mom leaves behind her husband Robert Quinton O’Hara, of 63 years, children, Douglas O’Hara, Cheryl Cassidy (Joe), Ken O’Hara (Caroline), and Lyn Breadman (Paul), grandchildren, Jocelyn Cassidy (Mark), Kendra O’Quinn (Ryan), Bobby Breadman, Brittney O’Hara (Mike), Courtney O’Hara (Craig), Connor Cassidy (Allison), great-grandchildren, Rowan O’Quinn, Ellie O’Quinn, and Cole Vanek, sisters, Judi Arnott (Grant), Marilyn Howard, and Traci Watson-Graham (Don). Predeceased by mother-in-law & father-in-law; Mary & Charlie Cassidy. Cremation has already taken place. Visitation will be held at Steele Funeral Home, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville (613-968-2273) on Thursday, February 8th, 2024, from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at College Hill United Church, 16 North Park Street, Belleville, on Friday, February 9th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the The Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
