In Loving Memory of Mary Gwyneth Scott
April 13, 1935 – February 15th, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gwyn Scott who left us after a valiant battle with cancer in her 89th year. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick in 1935 Gwyn was the eldest of four children; Barbara (deceased), and is survived by her two brothers, Peter and Andrew MacNeill.
Gwyn will be deeply missed and is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Raymond. Cherished mother to daughter, Heather Scott (Pete Pyrzak) and son, Brian (Deb). Proud grandmother to Ben (Ashley), Thomas (Emily) and Jessica. Great grandmother to Oaklen, Maple and Douglas.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Gwyn found joy in gardening, cross country skiing, canoeing, golf, stargazing and exploring the woods on their farm in the Frankford area of Southern Ontario. Gwyn and Ray raised beef cattle on their farm as well as a host of other animals including horses, chickens, ducks and many dogs. She loved travelling and exploring; she visited BC’s West Coast many times to visit family.
A phenomenal cook with a great sense of humour, Gwyn had a remarkable ability to bring people together with much love, laughter and dancing. She lived her life with grace and resilience touching the hearts of everyone who knew her.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all who shared in her life and helped bring joy and memories to her. A special thanks goes out to the Management and Staff of the Moira Place Long Term Care Residence in Tweed, Ontario for their support, friendship and compassion in the past year.
Visitation will be held at Weaver – East, 29 Bay St. Trenton on Friday May 9th, 2025 from 10:30 – 11:00 am, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 am. Interment Stockdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed in Gwyn’s name to Melanoma Canada. Online condolences at www.weaverfuneralhomes.com
