Flower, Joyce Irene… Born in Mount Albert Ontario August 19th 1934 to Harry and Annabelle Leadbetter and raised by the entire village until she attended St Joseph’s nursing school in Toronto in 1953. Joyce passed away at Trent Valley Lodge, Trenton on Monday, September 9, 2019 at the age of 85 years.
Joyce met her future husband Chuck when her brother Ray brought him home from Military. They were married after her graduation in 1956 and started their whirlwind tour of the world with the Royal Canadian Air Force, finally settling in Trenton where Joyce worked as a nurse at Trenton Memorial Hospital and The Victoria Order of Nurses (V.O.N.)
They raised three boys Michael, Mark(Allison) Matthew (Lisa) and will be lovingly remembered by her 6 grandchildren Ashley, Ryan, Nicholas Madison, Jessica and Trent, her sister-in-law Carol as well as nieces and nephews across North America. Pre deceased by Charles, her loving husband of 62 years and her only brother Ray Leadbetter.
Joyce will be remembered fondly by best friends Betty and Norman MacPherson, as well her many friends from Trenton and Fort Myers Florida.
Special thanks to the Templeton family and the many friends who visited Joyce over the past couple years.
The Flower family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Trent Valley Lodge for there loving care of Joyce in her final years. Family and friends are invited to visit at WEAVER Life Centre – East, 29 Bay St. Trenton on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 10:30 -11 AM. A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will take place at 11 AM. Reception to follow.
