Surrounded by family, on October 15, 2024, Jacqueline Marie-Mina Wright (Lagacé) passed away at home peacefully. At age 86 she lived a long and full life, her beloved husband Douglas Wright at her side. A wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Lovingly remembered by her husband Douglas Wright, children Cathy Portt (Liane Woodley), Brian Wright (predeceased), Bruce Wright (Barb Wright), David Wright (Tonya Craig), Allan Wright (Roxanne Wright), Earle Wright (Jennifer Wright), ten grandchildren Carissa Engelage (Andrew), Erika Portt (John McAuley), Timothy Wright (Molly Dushnicky), Becky Wright (Micheal Haichin), Breanne Wright (Adam Carr-Braint), Aaron Wright (Michelle Alkenbrack), Zachary Wright (Matt Sheady), Isaac Wright (Shane Barnes), Emilie Wright and Alison Wright, and five great grandchildren Quinn and Colby Engelage, Violet and Westley McAuley, and Charlotte Wright.
Jackie loved spending time with Doug and hosting big family dinners and holidays with her large, growing family. She was an avid fan at all family sporting events and worked part-time for 15 years as secretary treasurer for Belleville Minor Sports/ Hockey. Jackie, at a younger age loved figure skating, music, and all kinds of dancing. Later, she enjoyed many hobbies including knitting, sewing, smocking, crocheting, needlepoint, cross stitching, macrame, puzzling, iPad games as well as attending Belleville Bulls games.
Special thanks to the doctors, the health care team at Picton Memorial Hospital Second Floor, the VON nurses who provided home care, and the dedicated PSWs that cared for Jackie at home.
In keeping with Jacqueline’s wishes, visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024 from 6:00-8:00pm and Tuesday, October 22 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Burke Funeral Home (613-968-6968) 150 Church Street, Belleville. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 22 starting at 12:00 pm at Burke Funeral Home, followed by a lunch for family and friends. Interment at White’s Cemetery in Bayside will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
