Torrance, Irene … Passed away at Warkworth Place on Monday, October 14th, 2024 at the age of 99 years. Beloved wife of the late Jack Torrance. Dear mother to Gary & Donna Torrance, Susan & Bill Gordon, Greg & Janet Torrance and Ian Torrance. Dear grandmother to Tracy (Jeff), Rod (Sandra), Trevor (Joanne), Amanda (Jason), Sarah (Pete), Laura (Matt), John (Jackie), Jenna (Tyler), Erin (Evan) and great grandmother to Kaitlyn (Lee), Stewart, Natalie, Maggie, Luke, Mya, Jayden, Talia, Lilyanna, Tenzin, Autumn and great-great grandmother to Malcolm and Violet. Predeceased by her brothers Clarence & Allan. Together with Jack, Irene ran Jack’s Place from 1948 – 1969 and enjoyed serving the best burgers in town. She felt it was important to give back to her community, so over the years she volunteered for the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinics, the Diner’s Club and the Rebekah and Zuannas Lodge’s. She was also a founding member of Meals on Wheels and a Charter Member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Cremation will be taking place. The family will receive friends at the Weaver Family Funeral Home, 77 Second Street, Campbellford on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 from 12:00 – 1:30 PM, with a Rebekah Lodge memorial service and the funeral ceremony to follow at 1:30 PM. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Warkworth Place – Residents Fund or the Loch Lomond Rebekah Lodge # 248 (cheques only) would be appreciated by the family.
