Francis (Frank) Dorian Forestell passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Belleville General Hospital on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. He was born in Madoc, Ontario, son of the late Wilfrid and Mary (Ryan) Forestell.
Frank is survived by loving daughter Mary Lynne Forestell, sister Madeline Downey, brother Gerrard Forestell (Joanne), many nieces, nephews, friends in the Agricultural industry and longtime friend Gertie Sproule.
Predeceased by sisters Helen McAvoy and Margaret VandenAnker, brothers-in-law Harold McAvoy, Ted VandenAnker and Linus Downey.
Frank grew up on the family farm in Madoc and graduated from the Ontario Agriculture College in 1960 thus beginning his lifelong commitment to the agricultural community. He started working for United Co-operatives of Ontario (UCO) specializing in Feed and Crop Products across Ontario. After a 35 year career with UCO Frank retired and joined Green Lea Agriculture for 14 years marketing fertilizer and spraying equipment in Ontario and Atlantic Canada.
Visitation will be held at the Burke Funeral Home (613-968-6968), 150 Church Street, Belleville on Thursday, November 7 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Friday, November 8 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Madoc, Ontario at 3:15 p.m.
