Millar, Florence Elizabeth (McGuire)
June 27, 1927 – March 15, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden, peaceful passing of Florence Elizabeth Millar at Burnbrae Gardens Nursing Home on Saturday, March 15th, 2025 in her 98th year.
Predeceased by her long-time partner George Marshall of 32 years, her son Robert “Bobby” Edward Millar of Gravenhurst ON, December 13th, 2016 and by her parents Horacen & Gwen McGuire of Hamilton, ON. Florence will be greatly missed by her long time friends Melinda McLaughlin, Margaret Goein, Margaret Webster, and all who knew her.
Florence worked at North American Life & Casualty Insurance Co. for 28 years after which she retired at the age of 57 years and moved to her cottage in Hastings, Ontario with her companion George for 32 years. Florence then moved to Campbellford where she spent the remainder of her life. She was also very active at the St. George’s Anglican Church in Hastings from 1984 – 2017.
As per Florence’s wishes, cremation will take place and no formal service will be held. We will hold her in our hearts forever. As an expression of sympathy, any donations may be made to the St. George’s Anglican Church of Hastings, ON in her memory.
