Bruce Robert Simpson (March 14, 1949 – October 2, 2024)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Robert Simpson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born on March 14, 1949, in London, Ontario, Bruce’s journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family. Bruce was married to his devoted wife, Barbara Lynn Berry, with whom he shared a lifetime of joy and companionship. He is survived by his cherished son, Robert (Dora), and his loving daughter, Vanessa (David), who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. As a proud grandfather, he delighted in the lives of his grandchildren: Alex, Weston, Owen, and Vera, who brought him immense joy and pride. Bruce was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Margaret Simpson of Pembroke. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Susan Simpson, Barbara MacLellan (Joe), and Jason Simpson (Nicole), who shared countless adventures and cherished memories with him. A long-standing employee of Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf and Saganoska Demonstration School. His impact on the lives of those he worked with was profound and lasting, reflecting his compassionate spirit and kind heart. An avid fisherman and hunter, Bruce found solace and joy in the great outdoors, where he created unforgettable memories with family and friends. His infectious smile and hearty laughter will be deeply missed, leaving a void that can never be filled. As we celebrate Bruce’s life, we remember a man who brought love, warmth, and light into the lives of everyone he met. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and all those fortunate enough to know him. The family asks that donations be made in Bruce’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, honoring the kindness he extended to others throughout his life. Rest in peace, Bruce. You will always be loved and missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Steele Family Centre, 20 Moira Street West, Belleville (613-968-2273) on Monday, October 7th, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
