It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved wife, Barbara Helen Mindenhall, on June 2, 2024. Helen was a beacon of light and joy in the lives of all who knew her. Born on June 13, 1947, she blessed this world with her presence for nearly 77 years. Even though I was born 9 days earlier and hundreds of miles away, we were meant to be together.
Helen was the heart of the life we shared and the love that filled our home for 55 years. She was a beacon of light and warmth, not just to me, but to everyone that had the privilege of knowing her. We learned so much from Helen and hopefully her legacy can be carried on by myself, and our daughter Lori, son-in-law Trevor, and cherished grandchildren Noah, Zach, and Phoebe; our son David, and daughter-in-law Alison MacLachlan; her loving sisters Linda and Bonnie, along with their partners Rick and John. She was predeceased by her mother Annetta (Toots) Cleveland.
A passionate dancer, Helen’s love for Country Line and Ballroom Dancing was unmatched. Together, we glided across dance floors, meeting countless friends and acquaintances over many years, and proudly earned our Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Gold Star ballroom medals. These moments of harmony and grace will forever be etched in my heart.
Helen’s absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will forever guide us in the dance of life. We will miss her more than words can express, but take comfort in knowing that her love and lessons will continue to inspire us every day. Her generosity, kindness and humour kept us together through thick and thin, and was noticed and mentioned by all of our friends and family.
Rest in peace, my dearest Helen. You may have taken your final bow, but your music will play on in our hearts forever.
With all my love, Bob
