Prince Edward County council is offering lukewarm support for a proposal to change how recycling is handled in this area.
Quinte Waste Solutions is proposing adding another box to the blue box system, a gray box.
The gray box would just hold paper and fibre products, while other containers would go into the
blue box.
The gray box would be picked up one week, the blue the next week, in the County.
Councillor Barry Turpin says sorting the recycling will be much easier and should save money.

Councillor Forrester said the gray box might be useful in urban areas but not in the countryside while Mayor Quaiff thought there were already enough boxes involved in the recycling process.
Forrester also suggested if people really wanted to get serious about promoting recycing, dramatically increasing the price of garbage bag tags might be a good idea.
Quinte Waste Solutions has not yet made any decision on implementing a gray box system.
