Belleville’s finest are back from the assignment of a lifetime. Five City Police officers were “seconded” to work at the Vancouver Olympics and Constable Ron Canyo used one word to described the co-ordinated police effort…HUGE. Canyo was assigned to BC Place Stadium which hosted the opening and closing ceremonies, medal presentations and nightly concerts. Constable Terri Smith says she put in 14-hour days and nights while patrolling in Whistler…..but, calls the experience rewarding.
