A Belleville councillor has warned the city it should keep an eye on the ever-increasing length of CPR freight trains running through the city. Councillor Bob Dolan told City Council last night the trains are getting longer, with an extra engine in the middle. Dolan says the city should make sure the tracks are kept in good repair to avoid any accidents.. He says the tracks are close to the Bay of Quinte and any spills would go immediately into the water. Councillor Dolan says it’s a safety concern since the heavier CPR traffic is coming through the city.
