Belleville’s Sidney Street CNR overpass will get a major facelift this year. Last night, City Council awarded the two million dollar contract to Carlington Construction. But in the case of another tender call for three relatively small infrastructure projects, council decided to re-tender. Three of four companies bidding had not completed the tender documents properly. Some councillors felt staff needed to communicate as closely as possible with the companies to ensure they understand how to submit the tenders properly. Council decided the jobs should be re-tendered and included in a larger project.
