Saint Mary Catholic School in Campbellford is tied for the top elementary school in Northumberland County in a report from the Fraser Institute.
The school sits atop the list with a Cobourg school, Burnham Elementary, with an 8.6 ranking out of ten.
The right-wing thank tank analyzes province-wide tests results in writing, reading and math to come up with grades for the schools. Saint Mary Catholic School in Grafton got a 7.5 mark, Hillcrest in Campbellford came in at 5.0, and Brighton Public School hit 4.6. The lower ranked schools are Colborne Public at 1.5, and Warkworth’s Percy Centennial at 3.1.
