The proposed expansion of the Avalon Motel in Belleville is up for discussion at Belleville City Council today. The city’s planning advisory committee approved a request for rezoning last Monday, despite the concerns of Williams Hotels, which owns the nearby Holiday Inn Express. A Williams representative and two residents will object to the zoning bylaw amendment, while the contractor will answer any of council’s questions. The council meeting starts at city hall at four ‘clock this afternoon.
