The North Hastngs Family Health Team is frustrated with its efforts to recruit a doctor. The province has blocked the hiring of international doctors under the Underserviced Area program with its bonus funding, while it does a review. Recurit Chair Lorraine Fell says the restriction puts rural areas at a disadvantage… she says the Family Health Team clinic in Bancroft is losing out on a husband-wife medical team. Fell says the husband has now gone to work in Alberta… the wife wants to join the clinic but they can’t hire her because of the restriction.. Fell says the Family Health team has received no response to its letter of complaint to the province, dated last October.
