Hospitals and other healthcare providers in this part of the province are doing well, compared to the rest of the province. The board of directors of the Southeast Local Health Integration Network saw statistics yesterday showing the southeast lhin was the only one that didn’t have to report to the province regarding progress on such things as cancer surgery, hip replacements, and heart procedures. The province demands reports from lhins that aren’t up to certain standards.
Meantime, hospitals in the southeast, from Brighton to Prescott, north to the Bancroft area, have the fewest patients using hospital beds that should be at home, or in a long term care residence.
