The Mayor of Stirling-Rawdon Township is pleased with cleanup efforts at the site of an accidental diesel spill into Rawdon Creek.
Peter Kooistra commended the efforts of the company doing the work, which, along with the Environment Ministry, was on the scene for over two weeks after the incident.
One-thousand litres of fuel was inadvertently pumped out of a tank at the Stirling Creamery on January 18th. Kooistra told council the municipality may ask the ministry for a report at a later date. There is no information yet on whether charges will be laid.
