Once again this year Belleville is putting a chunk of money into roofing, on buildings it owns. Last year the bill was nearly 600-thousand dollars …this year it was cut down to 450-thousand. Some councillors questioned the practice of having a consultant decide what roofs needed repairs…the consultant gets 3-point-5 percent of the final bill. Councillor Taso Christopher questioned this practice and suggested roofers will give their own estimates.
