The backlog of young people waiting to take their driver’s tests has Toronto-area residents driving to the outskirts of the GTA….including the Quinte area to take their tests. Thousands of people were forced to wait to get the licences as a result of last year’s six month strike by Drive Test employees. Meanwhile, Stats show its easier to pass the test in Belleville than at one school in Scraborough….but, Julie Beaulieu at Madoc’s Clearview Driving school says the test criteria is the same right across the province. The Drive Test failure rate in Belleville is only 18.5 per cent, compared to 47 per cent at one drive test centre in Toronto.
