The three member municipalities of the Quinte Economic Development Commission won’t pay any more this year to belong to the agency.
The Q-E-D-C board approved a 700-thousand-dollar budget yesterday, with Belleville, Quinte West and Brighton contributing a total of 200-thousand dollars, the same as in 2009.
C-E-O Chris King says the other half-million comes from the Eastern Ontario Development fund and other partners to support the manufacturing and resource centre. The money is also used to give training rebates to manufacturers who invest in their employees through Loyalist College and other training providers.
