A snowstorm in Canada’s north has grounded the rescue of an Inuit hunter trapped on an ice floe in the Northwest Passage. The Rescue Coordination Centre at CFB Trenton hopes the helicopter from CFB Greenwood can take off at 9 o’clock this morning. The man is said to be in good health and good spirits after three nights on a large chunk of ice that broke off. Corporal Jason Poulin, a spokesman for the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre at 8 Wing says extra survival gear was dropped to the floe yesterday. The helicopter stopped to refuel last night and was ordered to stay put until the snowstorm subsided.
