People planning on doing some serious building in Quinte West will likely see some of the city’s planning fees increase this year. Building fees are not changing, but there will be some increases to planning fees, on site plans, and the removal of “holds’ on building plans. Some of the increases are as a result of the harmonized sales tax coming in the summer. Meanwhile, of interest to the general public is a proposed increase in parking ticket rates. Currently, a parking ticket in Trenton costs 4 dollars if paid voluntarily. The new rate would be 6 dollars if Quinte West Council approves the changes.
