Only two schools in East Northumberland County will be involved in the launch next September of the new full-day kindergarten classes.
Colborne Public School and the Northumberland Hills School to be built in Castleton are among the schools in the Kawartha-Pine Ridge Board setting up classes for four and five year olds later this year.
A public school board official says no schools in Brighton, Trent Hills or Murray Ward were chosen because there wasn’t as great a need in those communities..
There will be only one Catholic full-day Kindergarten location in Northumberland, a school in Port Hope.
