The athletic director at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax says correctional officials have cleared former Quinte Hawk and NHL player Mike Danton to move to Nova Scotia.
Steve Sarty says Danton, who was convicted in 2004 of conspiracy to commit murder, will join the university’s hockey team after he arrives. Danton is expected to arrive on campus within days, but it’s unlikely he’ll suit up right away.
Sarty says they want to give him time to get his feet on the ground and get into his academic program.
