The price for using Belleville’s recreational and community facilities will take a considerable jump in 2010. The increases apply to everything from room rentals to sports fields and marina facilities. First comes a two percent hike in the rates…then a two percent surcharge for most rental fees…then the additional eight percent with the HST July one. Councillor Jack Miller says its too big a hit all at once. Staff answered concerns about new marina charges by noting discounted fees in the past, and recent upgrades to the area. Council approved the new rates.
