The O-P-P in the Quinte Area and the rest of Eastern Ontario are finding fewer people under the influence at their Ride Checks this holiday season.
The provincial force has nabbed 22 drivers for impaired driving or driving over the legal limit since the start of this season’s festive RIDE program..
Driver’s licence suspensions in East region during festive RIDE programs were cut from 150 in 2004 to 45 in 2008. Only nine have been issued in the last month.
The festive ride program will continue until January first.
