Only a small increase in the number of people in Belleville and Quinte West getting employment insurance.
Statistics Canada says 1,520 local residents got assistance in October, the last month information is available for, only 40 more than in September.
However, the figure is 600 higher than in October, 2008, when 920 people in the two cities were on Employment Insurance .
