Belleville’s transit chair is “disappointed” that the move to put equipment on buses to help the hearing and visually impaired has been delayed. Councillor Jack Miller was commenting on City council’s decison last night to “table” the matter after Mayor Neil Ellis questioned if a “GPS” option had been considered. Miller says it wasn’t part of the request for proposals. The equipment proposed has written-as-well-as- voice-notice of bus stops, but Mayor Ellis said there are also options that allow people to use their cell phone to determine how soon the bus is coming.
