A truck pulling a load of furniture stolen in Belleville has been found west of Ottawa, and two people have been arrested, thanks in part to modern technology..
City Police say suspects took a 2002 International Tractor Truck from a Park Drive business early yesterday morning and then drove the truck to a store on Bell Boulevard, where they hooked it onto a 50-foot transport trailer. The trailer was loaded with new furniture valued at seventy-thousand dollars.
The truck had been equipped with a builtin G-P-S unit, and the truck owner determined it had stopped in Lanark a few hours later.. The O-P-P were contacted and officers found the truck and trailer in Almonte, where it had gone off a road and crashed into a ditch.. The contents of the trailer were recovered at the scene and the OPP arrested two men.
