Belleville’s Planning Committee has rejected a bid by a developer to change plans for a large parcel of land in the east end…at Farley Avenue and Station Street. Chair Tom Lafferty says two years ago First Pentecostal Church of Belleville had obtained approval for a medical centre, with a buffer zone for the adjacent Stanley Park Subdivision. Residents from Stanley Park subdivision packed the council chambers last night …a number of them telling the committee that the change would mean large buildings overlooking their neighbourhood. Lafferty says the committee wanted to protect the people and voted unanimously against the new proposal.
