The United Way of Quinte Campaign is coming up short in 2009….by about a quarter-million dollars. Executive Director Julia Gosson says they anticipated having difficulties this year because of the economy and chose not to set a goal…however, they had hoped to maintain the status quo. Last year’s campaign raise 1.65 million dollars….but, she says projections put the end total this year at 1.4-million. Gosson says plans are in the works to come out with a big push in January. She says they would need to raise 1.8-million dollars to support every request and maintain operations currently funded by United Way.
