The committee determining the future of two small elementary schools south of Picton is in place.
The 18 members of the Athol-South Marysburgh Accomodation Review Committee met for the first time at Athol last night, and the school council chair for both schools, Heather Zantingh was named the chairperson.
The next meeting will be held in January.
The committee will study what should be done in the face of declining enrolment at both schools, which have a combined student population of 163 this year, only 62 per cent of the capacity.
