“The whole lower floor smelled like bleach”.
Those words from an un-named teen when police asked him, about the day after his mother’s disappearance in the Spring of 2008.
The boy is facing first degree murder charges in the death of Michelle Barnoski… and his trial continued Peterborough court yesterday… where jurors watched a video of the teen being interviewed by police.
The teen also told officers he was afraid of his uncle… who he saw throwing a “long weapon” into a creek after his mother disappeared.
Police found a .22 calibre rifle in the creek.. and after searching the boy’s uncle… a co-accused in the case who will be tried seperately… police found a receipt for bleach.. and a key to the rifle’s trigger lock.
The boy’s trial is set to continue on Monday.
