Fifty years ago this coming Spring the Belleville McFarlands took the world by storm by winning the World Hockey Championship in Czeckoslovakia. and, the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame wants to rekindle that excitement with a special 50th anniversary weekend this April. Chair James Hurst says plans for another downtown parade will honour the remaining members of the World Champion Macs. The organization is launching a 100-thousand dollar fundraising effort this weekend to construct a permanant exhibit on the McFarlands.
