The Ministry of Health has expanded the list of people now eligible for the H1N1
influenza vaccine. Those individuals who can now be immunized include:
- • people six months of age and older with chronic medical conditions
- • all children from six months of age to 13 years of age
- • pregnant women
- • adults 65 years of age and older who reside in long-term care and retirement homes, and patients in complex care hospital beds
- • health care workers
- • police, fire, provincial corrections workers, pharmacists and dentists
- • household contacts and care providers of person at high risk who cannot be immunized or may not respond to vaccines
Parents are encouraged to contact their health care provider or visit the Health Unit’s website at www.hkpr.on.ca for the dates and locations of community clinics.
