Once again Belleville councillors are wrestling with a parking problem…one not entirely their own. Lack of parking in the area of Belleville General Hospital continues to be a thorny issue for city councillors. Yesterday, Council rejected a staff report calling for restrictions on roughly 12-square blocks near the hospita. They argued that it was unfair to those who need hospital services. Councillor Bob Dolan suggested parking meters in the area….but, in the end they supported Councillor Egerton Boyce who called for a meeting with Quinte Health Care. Boyce says the city needs to know what plans QHC has for future hospital parking.
