Six-hundred thousand dollars and counting for the United Way of Quinte campaign. Another 35-thousand dollars was added to the bottom line after yesterday’s Quinte West Community Warehouse Sale in Trenton. Executive Director Julia Gosson says volunteers processed one-thousand orders at the Public Works yard. Gosson says last year’s event raised 50-thousand dollars but organizers are still very pleased with the total.
Tonight, United Way hosts the Starlight Film Festival at the Famous Players in Belleville. Local high school students will be spending the night watching movies and eating popcorn. Tickets are still available for 20-dollars.
