The formation of an Accomodation Review Committee has been approved, as expected, for two schools south of Picton.
The Hastings-Prince Edward School Board voted last night to go ahead with the committee, which will study the future of Athol and South Marysburgh elementary schools.
The schools’ combined enrolment is about 40 per cent below their capacity, and is expected to drop further over the next five years.
The committee members will include the principal of the two schools, the chairperson of the parent council for both schools, and community members.
