Bellevile wants its new multi-plex building to produce energy as well as recreation. Mayor Neil Ellis has a vision… the 35-million dollar building planned for the Quinte Sports Centre complex housing a huge solar farm on its roof. Mayor Ellis says it could run the recreation facility as well as about 400 homes. He says the city would benefit from the green energy and also a favourable price sellng on the grid. Last night City Council decided to appy for the five-million dollar project through the Ontario Energy Corporation with payback time of 7 to 12 years.
