A new President of the First Nations Technical Institute on the Tyendinaga Reserve has been hired.
Sarah Jamieson, who worked in the Post Secondary Education Office at the Six Nations of the Grand River in southwestern Ontario the past 14 years, replaces Tim Thompson, whose contract wasn’t renewed this past summer.
She will be busy, since she was also named the President of Six Nations Polytechnic.
One of her responsibilities at both schools will be to improve access to post-secondary education for Aboriginal students. F-N-T-I, which was created in 1985, has over 350 students in a variety of certificate, diploma and degree programs.
