A Belleville man has begun a 50-month prison sentence for sexually assaulting his own son.
The 45-year-old, who was convicted of sexual assault and sexual interference of a person under 16 in Belleville Provincial Court on August 24th, was sentenced yesterday.
The charges were laid by City Police in 2007 in connection with offences over a number of years before 2001.
The man, whose name can’t be released to protect the identity of the child victim, who is now an adult, was also ordered to register with the National Sex Offender Registry and to provide a sample to the National D-N-A Data Bank.
