The hopeful property owner remains frustrated, and continues to threaten court action, but Belleville City Council isn’t ready to allow a third adult entertainment outlet in the community. Yesterday, Council voted to put an interim control by law into effect immediately, not allowing any more then 2 clubs featuring exotic dancers. That leaves the owner of the former Doctor’s Hotel on Station Street, Carlos Moniz, out in the cold. Mayor Neil Ellis isn’t worried about the fact that the “Doc’s” used to have an adult entertainment license. Doc’s owner Carlos Moniz will continue his efforts to have his plans for dancers, and a high end restaurant allowed, saying Council isn’t giving him a fair chance, adding he considered himself a “model citizen”.
