A few familiar faces among the dozen people named to the new Quinte Health Care Board of Directors.
Ethel Birkett-Lavalley, Mark Hanley, John Embregts and Matt Taff, four members of the board which was dissolved after provincial Supervisor Graham Scott took over in April, were successful in being reappointed.
They will be joined by Tricia Anderson of Quinte West, Steve Blakely, Bev McLellan, John Petrie and John Giraudy of Prince Edward County, and Murray Jackson, Gary Magarrell and Brian Smith of Belleville.
They were chosen from 40 applicants by the Community Advisory Council, which has been studying the Q-H-C governance issue for several months. The new board members will begin an orientation process in the middle of October, with a Chair to be appointed and board committees established over the coming weeks.
