Another step toward construction of the 35-million dollar multi-plex recreation facility adjacent to the Quinte Sports Centre. Last night, Belleville City Council approved the pre-qualification of five companies for the Design-Build team. They are Peak Engineering, Giffels Corporation, Atlas Corporation, Aquicon Construction and Ball Brothers. Mayor Neil Ellis noted that Peak Engineer is a “local” company. The project includes twin NHL sized ice pads with 200-to-400 spectator seating. Councillor Jack Miller questioned the number of seats. Director of Recreaton Mark Fluhrer said it will depend on keeping within the budget limits.
