The federal government is giving Cramahe township a little more help in paying its share of the cost of the new sewage treatment plant in Colborne.
M-P Rick Norlock was on hand today for the groundbreaking of the 6.3-million-dollar facility, and also handed over a cheque for a 1.3-million dollar Canada Mortage and Housing Corporation loan.
The 1.3-million will be applied to the township’s 2.1-million dollar portion of the cost.
The provincial and federal governments previously announced they would each contribute 2.1-million dollars toward the new plant.
