Defence Minister Peter MacKay was the bearer of good news for the Canadian Military yesterday but wouldn’t elaborate on how the expansion of the base to the north would proceed. Not all of the landowners on the northside are willing to give up their property to allow the military’s special ops JTF2 team to relocate to Trenton. The military needs over 900 acres of farmland north of the railway tracks for new facilties for the 600 member specialized unit. Not all of the 12 landowners have agreed to sell their property and may have to be expropriated.
